Do you know about the new AI pin?

After months of anticipation and speculation, Humane has finally unveiled its groundbreaking wearable device: the AI Pin. Representing the next step in the evolution of wearable technology, the AI Pin promises to revolutionize the way we interact with our gadgets.

The AI Pin is a two-part wearable device consisting of a square unit and a magnetic battery pack that can be attached to clothing or other surfaces. While pricing starts at $699, the real innovation lies in the technology packed into this sleek device.

Powered by a Snapdragon processor (specific model undisclosed), the AI Pin offers a variety of control options, including voice commands, gestures, and a built-in projector. Weighing in at just 34 grams for the device itself, with an additional 20 grams for the battery pack, the AI Pin is lightweight and unobtrusive.

Equipped with a 13-megapixel camera, the AI Pin can capture both photos and video, with plans for video functionality to be introduced in a future software update. However, unlike some other wearable devices, the AI Pin is not designed for constant recording or always-on listening. Instead, users must manually activate the device by tapping and dragging on the touchpad, with a "Trust Light" indicating when data collection is in progress.

At the heart of the AI Pin is Humane's AI Mic software, which connects the device to powerful AI models. While the company's press release mentions collaborations with Microsoft and OpenAI, it's important to note that access to ChatGPT is one of the device's core features. Operating on the Cosmos OS, the AI Pin is designed to seamlessly process user queries, eliminating the need for users to download and manage additional apps.

Humane's vision for the AI Pin is to simplify the user experience by stripping away unnecessary interface elements. Unlike traditional gadgets, the AI Pin does not have a home screen or numerous settings to manage. Instead, users can interact with the device using voice commands or touch, simply stating their desired action or information, which the AI Pin will then execute automatically.

In essence, the AI Pin represents the future of wearable technology, offering a glimpse into a world where our gadgets seamlessly integrate into our lives, making everyday tasks easier and more intuitive than ever before. With pre-orders set to begin on November 16th and shipping expected to start in early 2024, the AI Pin is poised to change the way we think about wearable devices.
